The Associated Student Body Government at Allan Hancock College is celebrating Black History Month.
The school is commemorating black history all week long with special events happening on campus.
Themes the college wants students to focus on are the legacy of strength and a future of hope.
50 people attended one of the week’s events Wednesday, in which they hope to encourage people to come together.
“We are all brothers and sisters, and with that being said, we should all say like Rodney King, why can’t we all get along,” said Jeffrey Hall, Allan Hancock College Trustee.
Black History Month is celebrated throughout February.
