SLO City Council approves feasibility study on merging dispatch services

Posted

The San Luis Obispo City Council approved moving forward with a feasibility study Tuesday to look at potential changes to dispatch services.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is one of four departments in San Luis Obispo County that is looking into merging dispatch services. The other departments include Atascadero, Cal Poly, and Paso Robles.

The Paso Robles City Council also approved a feasibility study earlier this month.

Police previously told KSBY that merging dispatch services could improve responses and potentially save money.

The study is in its early stages and simply meant to gather information. No concrete action is being taken at this time.
