People in Santa Maria can check out Downtown Fridays for the next six months.
The event kicked off Friday at the Town Center West Parking lot near Broadway and Cook Street.
The family-friendly event features live music, food booths and food trucks, activities for kids, and even a beer tent.
It will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Friday through September 27 as long as the weather cooperates.
Admission and parking are free. Overflow parking is available at the parking structure at Town Center East near Macy’s.
Organizers say this year’s event will have more local entertainment, a large kids zone, additional lighting, and even more food options than before.
