Cal Poly opened its doors to prospective new students at its 26th Annual Open House event on Saturday.
Prospective students can also enjoy a show put on by country music artists Casey Donahew and Chancey Williams Saturday night at the 79th annual Poly Royal Rodeo at Cal Poly’s Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
Potential new students also enjoyed a variety of campus traditions like a parade and the Poly Royal Truck and Tractor Pull Competition.
Students like Bradley Livingston demonstrated the university’s ‘learn by doing’ philosophy.
“Basically what you’re trying to do is you’re trying to hook your tractor up to a weight transfer sled,” said Livingston. “The farther you pull your transfer sled down the track, the harder and harder it gets to pull. Eventually, you get to a point where it can’t pull anymore and then you stop.”
