Marian Regional Medical Center held a celebration event Tuesday commemorating its annual Day of Hope fundraiser.
More than 500 volunteers participated in the event earlier this month, which raised more than $230,000.
A total of 58 teams collected donations for patients with cancer.
The Rancho Harvest and Hospice Care Center Services and Marian Convent groups raised the most money, with a total of $6,025.
Tuesday’s celebration was full of supporters and people who helped with donations.
“When a patient comes back and says thank you for not only taking care of my breast cancer, but taking care of my financial needs, then I know that we’re doing a great job. We’re taking care of heart and soul and financial needs from head to toe,” said Dr. Monica Rocco of Mission Hope Cancer Center.
Proceeds from Day of Hope will go toward the Mission Hope Cancer Center for new cancer treatment technology and patient support programs.
