No injuries were reported after a vehicle drove about 100 feet over the side of Highway 154 Wednesday afternoon.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says the accident happened just after 12:30 p.m. at Highway 154 and Old San Marcos Road in the Goleta area.

Two fire engines, a battalion chief, and a helicopter responded to the scene.

Firefighters located the vehicle and determined just one person was inside.

Crews used a rope system to get down to the vehicle and check on the female who was inside.

Firefighters say she was not injured and was put into a harness and brought back up to the roadway.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Photos posted by Santa Barbara County Fire appear to show the woman in handcuffs after she was brought to safety, although it is unclear why.

Los Padres National Forest officials, CHP, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team, and AMR also assisted.
