The 35th annual Central Coast Renaissance Festival began Saturday in San Luis Obispo at Laguna Lake Park.
The festival continues through Sunday, July 21.
The two day event features stage plays, comedy acts, Elizabethan dancing, falconry, parades and magic shows.
Performers are dressed in costumes to display characters like William Shakespeare and Sir Walter Raleigh.
Festival goers are encouraged to dress up in costume but it’s not required to gain entry.
Events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. all weekend.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids ages 6-15 and seniors 65 and older. Kids under 6 are admitted for free.
Parking on-site is $8 per car or $5 for a vehicle with four or more people.
