Congressman Salud Carbajal hosted his third annual Citizenship Recognition Ceremonies Saturday is Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
The ceremonies are meant to honor new, naturalized citizens on the Central Coast.
Carbajal began the tradition in 2017.
On Saturday he presented new citizens with a certificate of recognition and welcomed them in Spanish.
The first ceremony was held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Santa Barbara Public Library and the second ceremony is being held at the Santa Maria Public Library from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
