An earthquake struck near the city of Hydesville in northern California on Christmas Eve.

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck at 11:33 a.m. roughly 5 miles east of Hydesville.

The epicenter is also near Ferndale, where a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Tuesday and killed 2 people.
