The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) says its better to get your Real ID sooner rather than later.
DMV officials said more than seven million Californians now have a Real ID.
This is a nearly 400,000 increase over one month.
DMV director Steve Gordon is continuing to urge Californians to go to a DMV office as soon as possible while wait times are low and offices are less crowded.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will require a Real ID driver license or other identification card to board flights within the U.S starting October 1st.
