More than 40 Central Coast restaurants are participating in SLO CAL'srestaurant month this January. With indoor and outdoor dining still on hold, restaurants are switching gears and offering takeout deals this year.
Novo Restaurant Executive Chef, Michael Avila says that his restaurant has been making the best of the recent dining closures.
“It’s been a little bit of an adjustment, (we are) playing it by ear and on the ball, changing and adapting and just kind of doing what we do, it’s been fun we have had a good turnout so far," he says.
Community members have also been coming out to support some of their favorite eateries.
“I think it is great to go out and support our local restaurants because they need it. I grew up in the restaurant business so I understand it. What a great thing to support our restaurants, employees, owners, and community, it feels really good to help them out,” says Arroyo Grande resident, Ron Petrinovich.
Lido Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, Robin Puricelli, says her restaurant has made changes to keep dining traditions going this year.
“We have shifted our hours, temporarily revising them from Thursday to Sunday from 8 AM to 7 PM. (We are) constantly evolving and changing things as we see fit and as restrictions are lifted, but of course always following the guidelines," says Puricelli.
