89 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in SLO County

San Luis Obispo County is reporting 89 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, April 2, an increase of six since Wednesday.

Health officials say eight patients are in the hospital, including three in the ICU. Thirty-three are recovering at home and 48 are fully recovered.

Fifteen of the 89 patients in SLO County are healthcare workers, according to Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein.

The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department says its lab has conducted 454 coronavirus tests to date and has had 39 positive results. Forty-four cases have been detected at private labs. The total number of tests conducted at private labs is unknown at this time.
