Local first responders helped administer COVID-19 vaccine doses to community members in Santa Maria on Wednesday.
Santa Barbara County firefighters helped give out 500 doses at Allan Hancock College as part of a County effort.
Patients who received the vaccine say the whole process took about 10 minutes.
"We're out there every day with the patients, treating them, and we've been seeing them every day so we're offering our help where we can out here for County Health to come out here and give vaccinations," says Blake Brooks a Santa Barbara County Fire Dept. crew member.
Santa Barbara County Public Health is currently vaccinating health care workers and anyone older than 75 years of age.
