Nearly 30 cars of Lompoc Unified School District faculty took a drive around Lompoc parade-style Friday to see and wave to students.
Teachers have had to adapt to a new style of virtual teaching. They say at first it was difficult to get kids to engage but that students have really caught on in the last month.
"In my classroom, we talked about perseverance and getting through hard times and difficult tasks. I want to say that my students have really took on this talk the best they can and they've done really well," said Casey Penn, special education teacher.
The parade was created to bring a sense of community to students and to give a farewell for the summer.
