Santa Barbara County announced Friday it could close beach, park, and trail vehicle access and parking lots if parks become too crowded.
County officials said park staff will be monitoring parks regularly and watching for people violating social distancing guidelines about congregating.
Even if parking lots are closed, the parks themselves are expected to remain open as long as visitors are practicing social distancing.
County officials are asking that people make their visits to local parks short and at off-peak hours.
County campgrounds, the Goleta Beach pier boat launch, playgrounds, dog parks, and picnic areas are closed.
