SLO County adds 28 new COVID-19 cases

San Luis Obispo County added 28 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county's total to 3,360 confirmed cases as of September 18.

Sixteen people are hospitalized, including six patients who are in the ICU.

Another 186 people are recovering at home and 3,129 have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 27 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo.

A pop-up testing clinic will open in Atascadero on Monday, with tests available Mondays through Thursdays from September 21 to October 1.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, testing will be available in Paso Robles at the corner of 24th St. and Riverside Ave. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, testing will be available to community members in Heritage Ranch at 2130 Heritage Loop Rd. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Health officials say registration for the Paso Robles and Heritage Ranch testing locations will be done on-site. The testing is free and no identification or insurance will be required.
