Local wineries are showing their appreciation to health care workers by donating cases of wine.

More than 40 wineries from across San Luis Obispo County dropped off wine and thank you notes to employees at Twin Cities, Sierra Vista, French, and Arroyo Grande hospitals on Thursday.

Staff from Kesley See Canyon Vineyards and Lone Madrone/Bristols Cider House delivered nearly 20 cases of wine to each hospital.

"It is amazing. One morning we came in and the assistant nurse manager said we have to give you your alcohol, so ok I'll do that today, so it's really cool. I'm very thankful and it's just a cool way to see the community support us and yeah, couldn't be happier," said Eric Sheppard, a registered nurse at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

This is the second time the wineries have made such deliveries.
