Templeton’s annual Fourth of July parade is being postponed due to continuing COVID-19 concerns.

“After conferring with County and State officials, due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions on large gatherings, and the over-whelming support and attendance our annual event has exhibited, we cannot at this time, in good conscious, with practical health and safety precautions, sponsor an event that promotes close social and friendly interaction,” the Rotary Club of Templeton said in a press release.

A tentative date of Sept. 12 has been set for the annual parade to coincide with the town’s Founder’s Day Festival.

The Rotary says it is hoping to co-host the event with the Templeton Chamber of Commerce, adding, that if conditions allow, they would host a “Victory” parade at 10 that morning to kick-off the day’s events.
