Firefighters are making progress on the Camp Fire burning in Butte County.

The fire started on November 8 and so far has burned 153,336 acres. It is now 90 percent contained.

83 people were killed in the fire, and three firefighters were injured.

The fire destroyed 13,906 homes, more than 500 commercial buildings, and more than 4200 other structures. CAL FIRE says it is the most destructive and deadliest fire in California’s recorded history.

Firefighters hope to reach full containment November 30.

CAL FIRE says there could be heavy rain or snow at some higher elevations late Thursday and Friday, which could cause debris flows in burn scar areas.
