Posted

Firefighters in Lompoc responded to another series of fires in the Santa Ynez Riverbed on Wednesday.

The five vegetation fires were reported at around 8:15 p.m.

They were reportedly all located within a half-mile of each other at the north end of the riverbed just below La Purisima Highlands.

Lompoc Fire, Santa Barbara County Fire and Vandenberg Air Force Base Fire departments worked together to extinguish the fires. It reportedly took about three hours.

The cause of the fires is under investigation.

Firefighters say this is the third set of fires in the riverbed area in the last two months.
