Outbuilding destroyed in structure fire in Paso Robles

(UPDATE) 3:27 p.m. – Fire destroys an outbuilding in the 5200 block of Jardine Road in Paso Robles.

CAL FIRE says the first engines on the scene around 12:30 p.m. were able to protect other structures nearby from damage.

Along with the building, 1.06 acres of vegetation also burned. The cause of the Jardine fire is under investigation.

(Original Story) 12:48 p.m. – Firefighters responded to a structure fire Tuesday in Paso Robles that spread to nearby vegetation.

It was reported at about 12:20 p.m. in the 5200 block of Jardine Rd.

CAL FIRE says forward progress of the vegetation fire has been stopped. It burned approximately one acre of grass.

The structure that burned was described as a 500-square foot outbuilding. CAL FIRE says it was well-involved in flames when crews arrived, but the fire is now extinguished.

Firefighters are expected to remain on scene for about 2 1/2 hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
