Annual Soupabration event raises thousands for Pacific Wildlife Care

More than $14,000 was raised during a weekend fundraiser for Pacific Wildlife Care.

Soupabration features chefs from 10 different local restaurants, soup tasting, a silent auction, and animal ambassadors are also on hand.

Sunday’s event at the Morro Bay Community Center brought in more than $14,000, according to organizers, who say it’s the biggest fundraiser of the year for the non-profit.

Celebrity judges included Matthew Beaudin, executive chef at the Monterey Bay Aquarium; Dakota Weiss, part owner and executive chef at Sweet Fin Poké; SLO Co. District 2 Sup. Bruce Gibson; food writer and producer Tery Bayus; and food columnist for The Cambrian, Consuelo Macedo.

Soups were donated from the following restaurants:

-Blue Sky Bistro
-Cavalier Coastal Kitchen
-Divine Street Catering
-Fig @ Courtney’s House
-Linn’s of Cambria
-Manta Rey Restaurant
-Robin’s Restaurant
-Shine Café
-Thai Bounty
