A broken fire hydrant sent water gushing down a Pismo Beach street Tuesday morning.
The water could be seen shooting into the air at 4th Street and 5 Cities Drive shortly before 8:20 a.m.
Drivers reported at the time that no one had crashed, but some vehicles had hydroplaned.
Emergency crews appeared to just be arriving at the scene.
No word on the cause of the hydrant break.
Minutes later, a crash was reported near the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at the 4th Street offramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at least one vehicle had front-end damage.
An ambulance was requested at the scene, but no word on the extent of any injuries.
Caltrans said traffic was moving slowly through the area as of 9 a.m.
