In Santa Maria, fireworks can be seen in the night sky beyond just the Fourth of July, and that’s prompting City officials to hold community meetings about the topic.

Two meetings are planned over the coming weeks “to provide basic information on the current state of affairs regarding both legal and illegal fireworks, and to receive input from the public.”

The first meeting is set for Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Minami Community Center, 600 West Enos Dr.

The second is happening Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mussell Senior Center, 510 East Park Ave.

For more information, call the city manager’s office at (805) 925-0951 ext. 2399.
