Posted

A Grover Beach school was locked down for about an hour on Wednesday after police say a man jumped a fence onto school property.

It happened at about 1:40 p.m. at Fairgrove Elementary School.

According to police, school staff reported that a man was seen jumping the fence and walking onto the rear field of the campus. When staff members confronted the man on the field, he reportedly ran off, jumping back over the fence and into a nearby neighborhood.

Police say officers searched the neighborhood and were able to locate the man. He has been identified as Jordan Costa, 19, of Grover Beach.
