UPDATE: By 4:30 p.m., PG&E was reporting power had been restored in Casmalia, Orcutt and Santa Maria.

ORIGINAL STORY: Three power outages were affecting hundreds of Pacific Gas & Electric customers in northern Santa Barbara County Friday afternoon.

The first outage reportedly began Thursday at about 2:30 p.m. and was impacting 98 customers in the Casmalia area.

Crews were able to repair a downed wire Thursday, but PG&E says they determined there was also another issue.

An all-terrain vehicle reportedly had to be brought in and used during the daytime hours Friday due to the difficult terrain.

PG&E says, at last check, workers were still patrolling the area to locate the second issue.

“We regret the inconvenience to our customers, but most important is the safety of the public and our employees, and with that in mind, we’re working as quickly as we can to restore service,” PG&E said.

Power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m. Friday.

Power outages were affecting PG&E customers in Casmalia and Orcutt Friday afternoon.

Other outages were affecting nearly 800 PG&E customers in the Santa Maria and Orcutt areas Friday afternoon.

Both reportedly began at about 12:30 p.m.

While it was not immediately known what caused the outages or when power would be restored, lines were down off of Betteravia Road in Santa Maria.

As of 2:30 p.m., Betteravia Road was open, but South Thornburg from BEtteravia to Dal Porto Lane was closed.

Another power outage was affecting nearly 150 PG&E customers in Santa Maria Friday afternoon.
