Man suspected of threat with a gun arrested in Arroyo Grande

Posted

Arroyo Grande police arrested a San Miguel man on Sunday after they say he pulled a gun on someone who was trying to prevent him from driving drunk.

It happened at about 5:25 p.m. in the 100 block of Wesley Street.

Police say a man tried to prevent Todd Perkins, 50, from riding off on his motorcycle, so Perkins pointed a loaded 9 mm handgun at the victim and threatened to kill him.

The victim left the area and called police.

Police say officers responded and took Perkins into custody. They also reportedly found the gun in some nearby bushes.

Perkins was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, and carrying a concealed firearm.
