The City of San Luis Obispo will start accepting applications for cannabis business licenses and permits on Jan. 7, 2019.
Applications can be submitted until Jan. 29, 2019.
The city said applications will be ranked via a point system.
The application fee is $22,519 but the City of San Luis Obispo said most businesses are only required to submit a small deposit of $7,431 and they can pay the balance when the permit is issued.
The annual permit after that will cost between $65,890 to $90,575.
The city said these fees cover 100 percent of the city’s costs related marijuana administration and enforcement.
There is a limit of three retail storefront permits. Cultivation cannot be larger than 70,000 square feet and no business can be larger than 10,000 square feet.
