January is National Blood Donor Month.
At Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services, a donation of blood during the month of January will also benefit children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
For each blood donation made at a blood center on the Central Coast, Vitalant will make a monetary donation to Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties. Other blood centers throughout California and Northern Nevada are also participating with the goal of collectively granting six wishes.
Donors can also support Make-A-Wish by visiting their Rewards account at blood4life.org and donating their Rewards.
