The 23rd annual Winter Bird Festival continued Sunday at Laguna Lake in San Luis Obispo.

Visitors from all over the country came to the Central Coast for the opportunity to catch a glimpse of unique, rare birds.

“It’s really rich in habitat from the bay and it’s back watered to all of our different habitats in the area, so people come from all over the state and as well as different parts of the world,” trip leader Scott Inman said.

He said a vermillion flycatcher is a unique bird that is currently visiting Laguna Lake.

The festival runs through Jan. 21.
