It doesn’t happen often but it sure is beautiful.
As predicted, there’s snow on the mountain tops as you can see from this picture taken in Northern San Luis Obispo County. These pictures were taken from the Paso Robles Municipal Airport looking east towards the Temblor Mountain range in the Parkfield area.
KSBY viewer Trisha Butcher sent us these photos Tuesday morning as the clearing of clouds unveiled a Central Coast version of a winter wonderland. (yes, we know that’s a bit of a stretch)
The snow levels dropped to 2,000 feet overnight along with the temperatures and a Winter Weather advisory was issued in the mountains for both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.
This winter weather advisory includes the Cuyama Valley. Portions of Highway 166 could be impacted with as much as 1″ to 2″ of snow.
Chief Meteorologist Dave Hovde says, in some spots, there could be as much as 2″ to 4″ on Central Coast mountains.
Snow was also spotted atop Figueroa Mountain in Santa Barbara County on Tuesday.
And KSBY viewers shared their experiences with snow and hail throughout the Central Coast.
Major hail storm in northern Atascadero right now! 🤗 #beonksby
