A suspect was arrested after a brief car chase in Arroyo Grande.
Police say a woman tried to pass a forged, altered check at the CoastHills Credit Union on W. Branch St. Wednesday afternoon.
Bank employees called police and when officers arrived, they say the woman took off in a vehicle.
Officers pursued the vehicle until the woman reportedly crashed into some bushes outside the Bank of America near the Village.
Police say the woman then ran across Branch St. and into a creek where she was apprehended.
Officers say she faces potential charges of evading police, burglary, and forgery.
