Lompoc police are looking for two people who ran away from the scene of a rollover car crash on Friday.

It happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of North V Street.

When officers arrived at the crash scene, they say there was nobody inside the vehicle.

Witnesses reported that after the crash, two people got out of the vehicle and ran off in opposite directions.

Police say it appears there was just one vehicle involved in the crash. The car was apparently traveling southbound on V Street, lost control and struck the curb. The vehicle reportedly then hit a city power pole, snapping the pole in half and causing the vehicle to roll over onto its side.

Officers reportedly searched the area for the two people but did not find anyone.

Utility workers responded and replaced the power pole.

Investigators urge anyone with information about this crash or the people involved to call the Lompoc Police Department at (805) 736-2341.
