Sales tax went up a bit Monday in the City of Santa Maria.
The sales tax rate is now 8.75 percent from 8 percent.
Voters approved the increase.
The tax dollars will go toward maintaining and enhancing City services, including neighborhood police patrols, fire protection, 911 emergency response, youth services, and quality of life, officials said.
