State Parks plans to burn approximately 20 piles of debris from dead and dying trees this week at Hearst San Simeon State Park.
Burning is scheduled to take place between Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2 as conditions allow. The burning operations will occur between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
State Parks says the purpose of the burn is to reduce fuel that could burn in a wildfire.
