An inmate walked away from the minimum security facility at the Lompoc federal prison on Monday, according to prison officials.

Jesus Antonio Hernandez, 42, was reportedly discovered missing from the Satellite Prison Camp at about 10:30 a.m. on May 6.

Hernandez was serving a more than 27-year sentence for a conviction in Kentucky on charges of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, conspiracy to transport funds, and engaging in financial transactions in criminally derived property less than $10,000.

He is described as 6′ tall and approximately 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Hernandez’s whereabouts is urged to contact the United States Marshals Service at (213) 894-2485.

Prison officials say the U.S. Marshals Service and local law enforcement agencies were notified of Hernandez’s escape and an internal investigation was initiated.
