Felony, misdemeanor charges filed against Mid State Motorsports owner, employees

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney filed felony and misdemeanor charges against two Mid State Motorsports Lompoc employees and the former owner, for alleged illegal conduct related to several vehicle sale transactions at the dealership, which is now closed.

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley filed the charges against Mid State Motorsports’ former owner, Alysha Marie Hibson, and two former employees of the dealership, Karl Wolfgang Bischoff and Daniel Merlin Davis on Thursday.

Hibson is charged with two counts of grand theft, which is a felony, grand theft auto, which is another felony and three counts of employing an unlicensed vehicle salesperson, which is a misdemeanor.

Bischoff is facing charges of three counts of acting as a vehicle salesperson without a license, which is a misdemeanor.

Davis is charged with grand theft which is a felony.

Hibson and Bischoff have already appeared in court and pleaded not guilty. Davis has not appeared in court yet, but a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The case will be heard on June 18 in the Lompoc division of the Santa Barbara Superior Court.
