The Central Coast Cactus and Succulent Society held their annual show Saturday.

The show featured hundreds of cacti and succulents in 70 different classes.

It was an opportunity for the society’s members to show of their beautiful, rare and prize-winning plants and educate the community about their benefits.

Experts were also on hand to answer questions on selecting and growing these fascinating plants.

“These are really specialty items, but we also have one of the very best shows in all of California where we have probably about four to five hundred top quality plants that are spectacular to say the least,” said Rob Skillin, Central Coast Cactus and Succulent Society co-chairman.

The sale and show continue tomorrow with an auction of show-quality plants that organizers hope will encourage lively bidding.
