A San Luis Obispo man is facing multiple charges after police say he threatened a woman with a gun.

Police were reportedly called to a residence in the 1600 block of Fairview St. at approximately 6 a.m. Saturday after witnesses reported hearing a woman screaming for help.

Police say officers found the woman outside when they arrived on scene. She reportedly told them that she was an escort and that the suspect, Leo Dejesus Neri, had responded to her online advertisement.

Police say Neri and the victim apparently had a disagreement and that Neri threatened the woman with a handgun when she tried to leave.

Investigators say the victim was able to run outside, screaming for help, and was not injured.

Neri, 30, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with intent to commit rape, false imprisonment, and making criminal threats.

Detectives searched his home later that morning and say they found a handgun and other evidence related to the case.
