The popular smoothie shop Jamba Juice is shortening its name.
From now on, the chain will simply be known as Jamba.
While loyal customers have been calling the chain Jamba for years, the company is making the change official.
Dropping food-related references from restaurant names seems to be a trend, as chains want to appear healthy.
Dunkin’ Donuts and Domino’s Pizza also shortened their names recently.
The name change also represents the menu better, since Jamba offers sandwiches, bowls, and snacks in addition to juices and smoothies.
The company is also rolling out new store designs, healthier options, and a redesigned mobile app with access to Uber Eats and Postmates.
Jamba started out in San Luis Obispo as Juice Club. It was a Cal Poly senior project.
