The Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel is looking into its role and function in the Central Coast community at an upcoming meeting.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at the San Luis Obispo County Government Center from 6-9:30 p.m.

The panel will discuss its significance as the nuclear power plant begins the process of shutting down.

Panelists will take public input from residents who live near Diablo Canyon about what will happen throughout the closure. Representatives from PG&E will answer any questions the community may have during the decommissioning.

The information gathered during the event will then be sent to the California Public Utilities Commission and PG&E as they develop a step-by-step plan for the future closing.

If you cannot attend the panel meeting, PG&E has a live video stream to watch the meeting’s events on its website.
