The South County Skate Park in Grover Beach is now officially open as a free facility.
With the transfer of operation from the San Luis Obispo County YMCA to the City of Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department, the skate park is now non-staffed and there are no admission fees.
The park will be open from dawn until dusk.
The City of Grover Beach says a special event is being planned later this summer to celebrate.
The park is located at 1750 Ramona Ave. in Grover Beach.
A helmet and knee and elbow pads are required.
