Fireworks stands are popping up across the Central Coast ahead of the July 4 holiday.
While the stands are up now, safe and sane fireworks can’t be sold until the end of the month.
There are a limited number of authorized booths that can sell the fireworks and they’re only allowed in certain cities – Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, Morro Bay, Templeton, San Miguel, Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Guadalupe.
Setting off illegal fireworks or lighting any type of fireworks in areas where they’re banned can lead to fines.
