More than 100 volunteers helped out with some renovations at the Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo.

Members of San Luis Obispo Rotary Clubs stepped up to help with the project by laying the pavers over the weekend and building a redwood architectural living fence. Other volunteers from the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo also gave their time to assist with the amphitheater upgrade.

Rotary members also donated the materials needed to complete the barn’s project.

I encourage everyone to be willing to pull into the driveway of the Octagon Barn. It is an ongoing project right now, but the progress is exciting. When this is all set and done, this will be a place where community members gather,” Charlie Main of the San Luis Obispo Rotary Club.

This is just one of many projects gearing the barn up to potentially connect the space to the Bob Jones Trail for easier bike access to the beach. The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo also wants to open the facility up as an event space on the Central Coast.

The Octagon Barn is set to open as an event space sometime in September.
