A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday to celebrate the opening of a new commercial industrial development at the Santa Barbara Airport.

Construction on the project started in July of last year.

The new five-building development includes a rainwater recapture system, a coffee shop or deli opportunity with outdoor seating, electric charging stations, bike racks and storage, lockers and showers for bike commuters, and gardens.

The project is currently awaiting designation as a LEED Gold or Silver development and is designed to be energy and water efficient.

Future tenants in the building will include ACI Jet and Servpro Santa Barbara.
