There was a sea of bright orange shirts worn by hundreds of kids at a San Luis Obispo park Friday as they showed off the results of their summer donation drive for a local animal shelter.
The SLO County YMCA summer camp children have been collecting items for the animals looking for their forever home at Woods Humane Society.

The campers from across the county met at Johnson Park Friday afternoon to compile all the donations and celebrate the results of their collaboration.
A variety of items were collected including blankets, towels, tennis balls and treats. Some of the kids also made their own dog and cat toys for their furry friends.
In all, the kids collected 420 items to turn over to the Woods Humane Society.
