Senior Deputy James Carovano was selected to fill the position on July 1. He is a five-year veteran for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and is currently working with the Coastal Patrol Bureau. Deputy Carovano previously served as a part of the U.S. Coast Guard and was a law enforcement official at Yosemite National Park.
