The City of Santa Maria looks to maintain affordable housing with an “enforceable model lease 2020” for mobile home living.
The current lease was created in 1999 and is voluntary for homeowners and park owners to use.
The 2020 lease would look at adjusting the term and base rent as well as subletting, capital improvement and low-income assistance.
The city says with the 2020 model lease, it is not trying to create a different outcome than what park owners and homeowners desire.
