A local food bank is now directing people to Allan Hancock College now that Santa Maria Elk's Lodge is temporarily closing.
The College hosted their food share program on Oct. 15 to distribute food to the community. Staff and students volunteered at the site.
"We put out an all call to all staff and all of our volunteers to solicit more volunteers," Allan Hancock College Director of Student Activities and Outreach Stephanie Robb said. "The food bank sent us a lot more food."
The food bank is accepting food donations to help feed hungry families.
