Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the California Highway Patrol received a report of a crash between a vehicle and an AMR ambulance.
The passenger vehicle reported a deer jumped out in front of their car and they swerved and stepped on their brakes to avoid hitting the deer, according to CHP.
The ambulance collided with that vehicle, leading them both to spin out of control into the oncoming lane.
The collision blocked traffic and was not cleared until 9:30 p.m.
Two minor injuries were reported, with one person being transported to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to CHP.
